Recent performances include the Duke ( Rigoletto), Rodolfo (La bohème) Des Grieux ( Manon Lescaut), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Don José (Carmen), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), and Roberto in Puccini’s Le Villi (Spoleto Festival USA). Vania’s engagements in the 2015-16 Season included his Utah Opera debut as Cavaradossi, performing Alfredo in La traviata with Opera Roanoke, Dick Johnson in La fanciulla del West with Opera Omaha, and Messiah with Wichita Symphony. Vania sang Cavaradossi with Piedmont Opera, Don José with Greensboro Opera, Ovidio in Martín’s Before Night Falls with Florida Grand Opera and performed as special guest soloist in Anchorage Opera’s 55th Anniversary Celebration. In the 2017-18 Season, he will portray Don José in Carmen, Cavardossi in Tosca, and Lieutenant Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. With a voice that combines both power and beauty, he has earned critical acclaim portraying several of the most recognized leading roles in opera.
